The Founder

Currently living in Las Vegas, renown Skin Artist, Fred Giovannitti, has spent over 15 years advancing the art of Tattooing. Mr. Giovannitti is well known for his keen eye of what is beautiful as well as his skill to achieve the desired results, especially among Hollywood celebrities, professional models, medical professionals and business executives who care about their art. It is common for Mr. Giovannitti to see his artistic results often appearing in movies and magazines around the world.

Born on January 25th, 1969 in Norfolk, Virginia and schooled in Japan, New Jersey, Las Vegas and Cyprus. Fred has lived all over the world and has dealt with all sorts of social climates and political environments.

With over 20 years experience in graphic design and fine art , Mr. Giovannitti has amassed extensive knowledge of design theory and client interaction. He is skilled in most Adobe and Macromedia applications, knowledgeable in both Mac and PC and focused on introducing new ideas to any current project as well as inventing groundbreaking marketing strategies.

Due to his strong graphic background, Fred took to Skin Art very quickly and has excelled just as fast. Fred has been practicing Skin Art professionally since 1992. He is currently married to his beautiful wife Heather and they have a extraordinary son, Federico.

Why Tattooing?

Back in 1991 a few of his friends, well aware of his artistic background, started to ask him to design some tattoos for them. This he did happily, for nothing makes Fred happier then indulging himself in his art. But every time they would go and have his art tattooed on themselves they would feel the need to present to him the attempts other so called "artists" made to reproduce his art on the skin of his fellows. (His friends would later relate to him that most tattooists didn't draw or design but just traced and colored images they purchased for their walls by image factories.)

After just a few times of enduring this he decided that if any one of his friends were to ask him for a custom tattoo design again, he would have to be the one to perform the tattoo itself. He soon ordered some equipment to teach himself yet another medium to create his art in. At this point in time he was already quite proficient in painting, sculpting, airbrushing, illustration and graphic design. Needless to say, he picked up the medium as quickly as he does others. From that moment on Skin Art has been his primary occupation.

The Emergence of Tatlantis

Mr. Giovannitti has never seen himself as a tattoo artist, but as just an artist who has studied Skin Art as a medium. With the belief that a tattoo artist must be an artist primarily, he has sought out likeminded artists to create a family of tattooists dedicated to the finer points of the medium of tattooing. He wanted to also to create a studio unlike the stereotypical studios of our day. A studio which would not involve drug paraphrenalia or double as a smoke shop,a studio that would be owned by actual tattoo artists and a studio that would put the customer first by offering free design, friendly and personable service as well as an environment that they could feel comfortable in.
