This one was definitely a challenge to put together. Chuck really disliked this piece after I did a Queensryche piece on his other arm. Basically all chuck said to me was, "Do anything, just let's get rid of this and I'd like to make it gothic." It took me about a week to come up with a couple ideas, but we finally decided on a design. This is basically what it looks like during the first stage of sketching the design on the skin. This initial part takes about 5 minutes. It's for area usage and overall coverage using a red pen. Once I get the basic area worked out, I map out the details with the black pen. This part takes about 10 minutes. Here we start to see more or less how the design will look like. Once the design is layed out, we start with the line work. Here you'll see the full piece with a couple close-ups to show detail. After the first 4 hour session we completed most of the dark shading and got rid of the outer half of the previous work. this will be a monochromatic piece in the end using mostly different shades of blue to give a night time look. Here's a closer look at the shading to show the detail of the cover-up. The fruits of another 3 hour session deliver to us the cap of Chuck's sleeve. Here we have the result of our most recent coloring session. 4 hours.
